A selection of Laura’s creative projects are shown here. Her artistic interests largely reflect a lifetime of wanting to make her own version of things that she could save time and effort by just buying from a shop, particularly souvenirs, cards and furniture. But that wouldn’t be as much fun.
Laura especially enjoys projects involving mixed materials, such as fabric and paper, and those inspired by the geography or culture of a particular place. For example, her current projects include an embroidered map of New Zealand, designed and stitched while travelling around the country, and a wooden whistle, whittled from a branch cut from an olive tree in Athens.
